<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">You evaluate
criticism as a negative, and this negative evaluation of criticism dictates
that you will almost always experience distressed feelings and act

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Criticism is
essential. Performance appraisal, team functioning, quality control, customer

of these tasks, giving and taking criticism is an essential and underlying
factor as to how well the task is performed. For example, you cannot have an
effective team unless team members can give and take criticism to and from each
other. If an executive cannot take criticism, or if those close to him are
ineffective in giving it to him, he has little chance of developing himself or
his leadership skills.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div style="line-height: 15.35pt; margin-bottom: .25in; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Never agree to an impossible
deadline to please someone. Otherwise, over the long haul this will do more

<span style="color: #444444; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Always
record your commitments and deadlines in writing. It will help to counteract
your forgetfulness. Enter deadlines into your planner (Daily plan, Audit
program). Also record small, apparently insignificant commitments in writing.
For instance, if you have scheduled an appointment with an auditee, send out an
e-mail or an invitation via Outlook. This ensures that both parties clearly
know when the meeting was supposed to take place. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span style="color: #444444; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">When
you agree to a deadline, describe in detail what is to accomplished, completed
by this deadline. The expectations on both sides need to be crystal clear,
otherwise this can result in unpleasant misunderstandings down the road. <span class="apple-converted-space"><span ">If</span></span><span > you have to work on multiple tasks, you need to

<div style="line-height: 15.35pt; margin: 0in 0in 0.25in; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; word-wrap: break-word;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">It is crucial to distinguish between effectiveness and
efficiency. If you are effective you are doing the right things. If you are
efficient you are doing the things right. In other words, effectiveness is the
goal and efficiency addresses the way! Effectiveness asks the “what” and
efficiency asks the ‘how’.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span style="color: #444444; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Tell
your co-worker and supervisor about your commitments and also the deadlines for
the milestones. This will help you to define goals. It serves as an additional
motivating element and will help you to stick with the milestone deadlines.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<h2 style="line-height: 14.4pt; margin-bottom: 9.75pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; word-wrap: break-word;">

<span style="color: #444444; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">When
things get sticky you should consider: what activities do I have to take care
of myself, what can I delegate or outsource? Who can help me right now:
co-workers, supervisor,
manager? By the way: When things get tight, avoid multi-tasking. This will only waste
more time. Always start with the unpleasant tasks first.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<h2 style="line-height: 14.4pt; margin-bottom: 9.75pt; margin-left: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="color: #3366bb; font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">7. The worst case scenario: you cannot meet the deadline!<o:p></o:p></span></span></h2>
<span style="color: #444444; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Inform all those
involved as soon as it becomes apparent that you cannot meet the deadline. Once
the cat it out of the bag, and you will miss the deadline, you must inform in a
timely manner and present alternatives: this will not necessarily always result
in a schedule delay. You can always propose to reduce the deliverable scope to
those involved and meet the deadline that
way. The key is to inform early in the process and to give those involved the option
to decide about the alternatives. This way you can at least prevent the
situation from getting worse.</span></span><br />

Welch says individuals with energy love to “go, go, go.” Everyone knows these types, the ones with boundless energy, who get up every day ready to attack the job at hand. High-energy people move at 95-miles-per-hour in a 55-mile-an-hour world. • Energizers know how to spark others to perform. They outline a vision and get people to carry it out. Energizers know how to get people excited about a cause or crusade. They are selfless in giving others the credit when things go right, but quick to accept responsibility when things go awry. • Edge. Those with edge are competitive types. They know how to make the really difficult decisions, never allowing the degree of difficulty to stand in their way. These are leaders who know how to make what Peter Drucker calls “the life and death” decisions: hiring, firing and promoting. • Execute. This is one of the real keys to the entire 4e Model. The first three “e’s” are essential, but without measurable results, the other “e’s” are of little use to an organization. People who execute know that activity and productivity are not the same thing. The best leaders know how to execute. They know how to convert energy and edge into action and results. "

<b>Cause and Effect Analysis<o:p></o:p></b></div>

<b><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Identifying the likely causes
of problems<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText">
<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Cause and Effect Diagrams
help you to think through causes of a problem thoroughly. Their major benefit
is that they push you to consider all possible causes of the problem, rather
than just the ones that are most obvious. The approach combines brainstorming
with use of a type of concept map.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText">
<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Cause and Effect Diagrams
are also known as <b>Fishbone Diagrams</b> because a completed diagram can look
like the skeleton of a fish; and as <b>Ishikawa Diagrams</b>, after Professor
Kaoru Ishikawa, a pioneers of quality management, who devised them in the
1960s.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText">

<b><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">How to Use the Tool<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText">
<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Follow these steps to solve
a problem with a Cause and Effect Diagram:<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in; text-indent: -.25in;">
<i><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">1.</span></i><i><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 7.0pt;">
</span></i><i><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Identify the problem:<o:p></o:p></span></i></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in;">
<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Write
down the exact problem you face in detail. Where appropriate identify who is
involved, what the problem is, and when and where it occurs. Write the problem
in a box on the left hand side of a sheet of paper. Draw a line across the
paper horizontally from the box. This arrangement, looking like the head and
spine of a fish, gives you space to develop ideas. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in; text-indent: -.25in;">
<i><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">2.</span></i><i><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 7.0pt;">
</span></i><i><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Work out the major factors
involved:<o:p></o:p></span></i></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in;">
<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Next
identify the factors that may contribute to the problem. Draw lines off the
spine for each factor, and label it. These may be people involved with the
problem, systems, equipment, materials, external forces, etc. Try to draw out
as many possible factors as possible. If you are trying to solve the problem as
part of a group, then this may be a good time for some brainstorming. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in; text-indent: -.25in;">
<i><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">3.</span></i><i><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 7.0pt;">
</span></i><i><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Identify possible causes:<o:p></o:p></span></i></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in;">
<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">For
each of the factors you considered in stage 2, brainstorm possible causes of
the problem that may be related to the factor. Show these as smaller lines
coming off the 'bones' of the fish. Where a cause is large or complex, then it
may be best to break the it down into sub-causes. Show these as lines coming
off each cause line. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in; text-indent: -.25in;">
<i><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">4.</span></i><i><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 7.0pt;">
</span></i><i><span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">Analyse your diagram:<o:p></o:p></span></i></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin-left: .25in;">
<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;">By
this stage you should have a diagram showing all the possible causes of your
problem. Depending on the complexity and importance of the problem, you can now
investigate the most likely causes further. This may involve setting up
investigations, carrying out surveys, etc. These will be designed to test
whether your assessments are correct. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText">
<br /></div>
